Ja, meine Mutter ist weg, meine Eltern leben getrennt. – Ein anderer Mann? – Ein anderes Land.
Claudias Eltern sind politische Aktivisten. Aus Nicaragua fl ieht die Familie nach Costa Rica. Auch hier bleibt ein normales Familienleben auf der Strecke. Zum Glück halten Claudia und ihre jüngere Schwester stets zusammen, wenn die Eltern sich neue Pässe drucken, die Koffer ins Auto werfen und wieder einmal alles nicht so bleibt, wie es gerade war. Um endlich Halt unter den Füßen zu spüren, muss das Leben auf der Flucht ein Ende haben. Claudia hätte gar nichts dagegen, mal für eine Weile ganz normal zur Schule zu gehen.

Claudia‘s parents are political activists. The family flees Nicaragua and moves to Costa Rica. But there‘s little hope of a normal family life there, either. Luckily, Claudia and her younger sister always stick together when their parents get new passports printed and toss the suitcases into the car – and once again their world gets turned upside down. They have to stop running from place to place if there is to be any hope of fi nally getting a fi rm foothold in life. Claudia certainly wouldn‘t mind just going to school for a time, like any normal child.
